You’re probably here because you found my resume on Monster, or some other site I frequent. That’s great! It’s nice to know that these age old tools like job boards still work. But you probably have a few questions. They tell me that the pile of submissions for any given posting is in the hundreds these days. That means that as a recruiter of a potential employer, you have a real variety of qualified (hopefully) candidates to choose from when looking to fill your open IT related positions. Again, that’s marvelous.
But I bet you’re asking, “What’s so unique, and/or interesting about this Sam Moshe fellow (other than his gleaming references and well written resume)?” Well, I’m glad you asked. I’m a web developer. It’s what I do. Come to think of it, it’s all I really know how to do. I’ve worked professionally in the field in a variety of capacities, through all phases of the product life cycle, and not to sound arrogant, but there isn’t really a lot that challenges me anymore.
As of now, my niche areas are PHP, Javascript, AJAX, and MySQL, but I’m fluent, and/or certified in a number of others. And, to be sure, there are more yet to which I’m certifiable!
I think the that the thing that really makes me stand out from the competition is that I’m still excited about this crazy web stuff. Every day the paradigm for more efficient communication and marketing is changing, and I think it’s very exciting to be involved in. When I first entered the field back in 1996, I was part of it because I believed the Internet could change the world. And it did.
Now, we’re looking at things like universal compatibility for standards across all web browsers just over the horizon. We’re seeing new and exciting trends like broadly compatible streaming video, and the advent of the ubiquitous social networks, agile business practices are a reality now, and all of a sudden… the web is a more exciting place than ever.
