Enrgi IT Solutions

Designed and implemented AJAX enabled content management system for the presentation of data driven content in real time. This project involved hands on work with Photoshop, CSS, PHP MySQL, AJAX and XML to achieve the desired result. The challenge here was building something that could efficiently utilize memory management, and system resources on a Windows 2003 Web Server with IIS, without losing the inherent flexibility of the language. A key concern here was integrating with existing vendor management systems and pre-existing resume submission software written in .Net and Coldfusion respectively. PHP was the natural choice of languages in this scenario because of its superior ability to process regular expressions, and its built in XML functionality.

East of Nowhere Press: Nonestica.com, and The Ozmatron Search Engine

Designed an elaborate web site for Jericho Matt Bloom and company to promote their upcoming book Nonestica: Rise of the Witches, a prequel to the Wizard of Oz and other myths. This project was scoped as simple, at first, but became the definitive Wizard of Oz resource on the Internet with the addition of the Ozmatron, a search engine and keyword index of the original series by L. Frank Baum, and the only application of it’s kind present in this niche market segment. The search engine indexes every paragraph, in every chapter of the first 14 books of the original Oz series, and provides fulltext natural language indexing, and real time logging of all searches conducted. Site makes heavy use of PHP and MySQL, with a central database containing over 17,000 unique records.

Lange Industries: “Fred”

Designed and implemented a best of breed groupware solution for the property management industry. This application made heavy use of mobile devices to reach and streamline communication between property managers, home owners associations, and home consumers. The project was both mathematically challenging, and bleeding edge. This application was implemented almost entirely using Javascript and AJAX with PHP 5 and MySQL as the fundamental building blocks. On the server side, this was the first project I had ever worked on where most of the application logic was handled by the database server, rather than the application server. I was responsible for writing complex views and stored procedures in MySQL, and documenting them for the application team, in addition to designing the interfaces, and core data structures.

The challenge was making changes to the application or presentation code instantly, globally, and without breaking anything.
